Sometimes referred to as âthe heart of Antarcticaâ, the Ross Sea region is the last great unspoiled part of the worldâs oceans. To date there has only been minimal exploration, and to enter this region of Antarctica is a privilege, with only a few hundred people able to visit each year. Voyages are generally New Zealand return, or, if taking in part of the Antarctic Peninsula as well, will start or end in New Zealand. Voyages also include exploration of the Subantarctic Islands.
