Largest Cruise Ship Sets Sail To Miami
Royal Caribbean International’s newest ship Icon of the Seas has sailed into Miami ahead of her naming celebration with Godfather Lionel Messi later this month.
The ship, which will officially debuton 27 Jan, has been touted by those in the industry as the largest cruise ship in the world at the moment. She boasts 28 types of accommodation option with a total of 2850 staterooms and more than 40 restaurants, bars and lounges, as well as eight neighbourhoods, nine whirlpools and seven pools, including the first suspended infinity pool at sea.
Other highlights include six record-breaking category six waterslides, and the Crown’s Edge experience, which allows passengers to walk out some 154 feet (46+ metres) above the ocean.
Guests will also find RCI’s first neighbourhood designed for families with young kids, called Surfside, as well as an adults only neighbourhood, Hideaway.

Icon of The Seas officially sails from 27 Jan, offering seven-night Eastern or Western Caribbean cruises ex Miami, which include a stop at the cruise line’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.
