8 Night Cruise sailing from Amsterdam to Basel aboard Lafayette.
This extraordinary ship features an impressive transformation of the living spaces: we have reduced the number of cabins in order to make them more spacious.
Each cabin will be between 172 and 215 square feet and will have impressive floor to ceiling picture windows providing astonishing panoramic views as our ship cruises.
As with all our ships, our ultra-comfortable cabins come with a wide-screen TV, safe, hair dryer, individual air-conditioning and heating controls, and much, much more.
We’ve also changed the cabin bathroom design to make it more decorative and modern.
The boat’s public and social areas, bathed in a resolutely contemporary look and feel, will be warm and welcoming. LED lighting, thick and luxurious carpeting, lights, colors and sumptuous materials have been brought together by our decorators to create a truly inspirational atmosphere.
DAY 1: AMSTERDAM
Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6:00 p.m. in Amsterdam. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Now it will be time to sit back, relax and begin to enjoy the scenery and the services of our friendly and service-oriented staff. We’ll have dinner on board and we’ll remain in port overnight.
DAY 2: AMSTERDAM
Enjoy breakfast on board before we set off on an optional guided visit of Amsterdam. The Dutch capital is a truly delightful city with a rich and fascinating past. It is also known as the “Venice of the North” thanks to its network of canals, and we’ll have the opportunity to learn a little about the true character of the town — an eclectic and pleasurable mix of historical and modern architecture and lifestyles. We’ll return on board for lunch. This afternoon, spend some time exploring on your own or join us for an optional excursion to Haarlem. Dutch Haarlem dates back to Gothic times and this is reflected in its architecture and cobbled streets. It also offers a lively cultural scene, excellent shopping and fine dining opportunities. We’ll return to our ship in late afternoon for dinner and an evening of dancing and entertainment. Our ship will depart for Xanten, and we’ll cruise through night.
DAY 3: XANTEN – AACHEN (1) – DUSSELDORF

You can continue to take in the sites as we lunch on board. The ship arrives in Xanten in the early afternoon, with an optional side trip available to Aachen. We’ll begin our visit in the old town, its narrow alleys and historic squares exposing its 2,000 year-old history. We’ll continue our tour with a visit to the Cathedral of Aachen, one of the most famous examples of western architecture. It was Charlemagne’s final resting place and more than 30 German kings were crowned here. In 1978, it was the first German building to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. You’ll also see the Cathedral’s Treasury, thought to be the most important ecclesiastical treasury north of the Alps. It houses sacral art treasures from the Byzantine, Carolingian, and Hohenstaufen Empires. The Cross of Lothair and the Bust of Charlemagne are part of this unique visit. After our visit, you’ll have some free time to sightsee on your own before heading back to the boat in Dusseldorf. Tonight we’ll enjoy dinner and an evening of activities on board.
